- Kit Unix
- ========
-
- Install an Unix environment on your Atari!
- -----------------------------------------
-
- This kit is very simple to install and WORKS immediately!
- To install a 68030 optimized Mint 1.08 kernel (900 ko on drive C:)
- and a Unix drive (12.5Mo on drive e: for example) follow this instructions:
- (Contents of the 12.5 Mo: Gnu C++,tcsh,man,AES4.1,... versions until 03/94)
-
- Install the files of MINT030.ZIP (if you don't have a 68030, or if you
- need to use a CDROM, use the old 1.04 kernel of your Multitos package).
- (Multitos=Mint+AES)
-
- Reset!
-
- Extract MINIT.TTP from MINIT.ZIP and launch it with the command line
- "-V -P -n 2 e:" in order to create the Unix drive (long filenames,
- access rights 'drwxrwxrwx', at least a 20 Mo size drive).
-
- (Now you may write anything in your unix drive via the AES4.1 GEM!)
-
- Extract TAR.TTP from TAR.ZIP and copy it on E:\.
- Extract ROOT.TAR from ROOT.ZIP and copy it on E:\.
- Launch TAR.TTP with the command line "-xf root.tar" (untar it)
- (Don't care about warnings)
-
- Type 'ESC' to update the GEM window "E:\"
- Move TAR.TTP in the "USR" directory.
- Extract USR0-7.TAR from USR0-7.ZIP and copy them on E:\USR
- Untar them, and erase useless files as soon as possible in order
- to save free disk space...
-
- Reset!
-
- Launch TOSWIN_W and enjoy Unix!
-
- (if nothing appens, launch /bin/tcsh with the menu command 'OPEN STD WINDOW'
- of C:\MULTITOS\BIN\TOSWIN_W.PRG)
-
- Try "man man"
-
- Try "cd exemple" and "make"
- (remove large accessories if there is not enough memory for the Gnu C++)
-
- For multi-user mode, unzip and untar MULTIUSR.ZIP on E:\ and turn
- C:\MULTITOS\MINTCNF\MULTIUSR.CNF into C:\MULTITOS\MINTCNF.
- (Verify you have a bootable disk+AHDI, then reset! The disk will save you
- if login fails... To return in other mode, modify the MINT.CNF file)
-
- AVECGEM.CNF = Mint with AES 4.1 GEM (MINT.CNF provided)
- OLDGEM.CNF = Mint with GEM in ROM (3.8Mo free ram!)
- SANSGEM.CNF = Mint without GEM, text mode, you may call "gem" or "bootgem"
- MULTIUSR.CNF = Mint in multi-user mode, text mode (root may call "gem")
-
- Memory protection mode: Turn C:\AUTO\MINTNP.PRG into C:\AUTO\MINT.PRG
